Kids TV show My Petsaurus has built a large audience during its four series to date on CBeebies. It has identified a unique niche by combining dinosaurs with pets.
Our client and collaborator Tessa Moore developed a brand strategy for Director of Bumpybox Sam Wright, and together they briefed Sharp Sharp to develop a fresh and friendly look and feel for the brand presentation, one which can be adapted to additional materials in the future.
The finished design emphasises the playful nature of the dinos, and emphasises the comedy as the prehistoric pets explore their modern day homes. The brand presentation is designed to look like a book for new owners about owning a pet, intended as an apt way to convey key information to potential new brand license owners.
The show’s logo has served it well on air. However Bumpybox required a version which can be more easily adapted into working on products and packaging. I developed a holding shape inspired by pet collar name tags, and then built this into the logo and set it up for a wide variety of uses. The holding shape had to fit in with the existing logo’s style, while not overpowering it.

“Sharp Sharp were great to work with, they immediately understood our brand and the elements we required we have to help it grow. Using the visual materials from our show they were quickly able to put together an exciting looking document that conveyed the appeal of My Petsaurus. I’m very much looking forward to working with them on future projects”
When you see My Petsaurus out and about in the world, you’ll have been warned!
