A medley of animated screen content for OKRE Summit
The challenge
Media charity OKRE hosts a yearly summit, which is all about inspiring entertainment producers to integrate social causes into their content. The OKRE team needed an impactful identity for the event which placed it firmly in the entertainment space.
The event needed to attract premium speaking talent, a top tier venue and sponsors too.
As the event approached, OKRE’s marketing team needed animated branding and templates for the on screen content.
Visual toolkit
We were initially commissioned to develop a visual toolkit for the summit and to apply it to a sponsor/speaker pitch deck design.
Moodboarding helped us to benchmark the summit’s past branding alongside other media events, and to quickly establish directions for its look and feel.
We developed a look featuring bold, flat colours and patterns which provide a clear link with the OKRE brand, and create the desired positive, buzzy effect
A system of graphic patterns and shapes was set up, they could be overlaid over one another to emphasise the coming together of different fields at the summit
Geometric shapes and alignment provide structure for the more freeform elements to play in.
Pitch deck
All of these elements were brought together in a bold design for the sponsorship and speakers pitch deck. Tag line generation and copywriting input into the deck were also included, to ensure that the messaging and visuals were in sync.
Screen content
We established a set of animation principles which made best use of the venue’s huge screen space. A sense of scale was added to the large geometric shapes with more detailed patterns, and reveals and zooms created a playful interplay between the two.
We created key pieces of animated branding, such as logo sting and looping holding slides, using Adobe After Effects for its wide range of creative possibilities.
After consultation and testing with OKRE’s marketing team and the venue’s AV team, we developed a system of animated templates for the other screen content. A key consideration was that the marketing team needed to edit the templates up to the last minute, so we settled upon Powerpoint as the best solution. This still allowed sufficient scope for sweeping animations to bring the ultra-wide screen content to life.
Results
The pitch deck proved successful, and helped to secure a desirable venue at a Google campus in London. The branding was well received at all levels of OKRE’s staff, as well as attendees. And the striking screen content contributed to the overall prestige and impact of the event.
