A dream project to work on. I was responsible from the outset for the creative direction of the branding, printed and digital marketing materials and licensing style guide as well as collaborating with producers of licensed products for this BAFTA-nominated kids show. I commissioned a selection of design agencies and art directed illustrators and photographers as well as executing design work myself and with my in-house team. I worked closely with the broadcaster CBBC, production company Factory Transmedia, and licensees including master toy licensee Vivid.
Working closely with stakeholders from FremantleMedia, CBBC and Factory Transmedia, I developed this piece of key art which was used to promote the TV show as well as its licensing programme and on products.
I started by sketching out the idea, then worked with photographer Steve Brown and production manager from Factory Transmedia to plan how to shoot it. We then set up a photo shoot on the set of the show, with a large team of puppeteers, costume, lighting set and props experts to get the photos. Finally, Steve composited the image to match my original sketch.
